'Downward Dog is an inverted pose that engages and strengthens the entire body'

If you’re not already familiar with the Downward Dog, now’s the time to get acquainted.

Downward Dog is an inverted pose that engages and strengthens the entire body. Though seemingly simple, this pose is more complex than it looks, and despite the very yogic nature, it lends itself to all manner of different workouts, from HIIT interval stretching to post run cool downs.

The reason for broad spectrum benefits of downward dog is that it involves using the entire body, and by positioning your heart is above your head, blood flow to the brain is promoted, which in turn can help energize and calm the mind. It is also an effective an antidote to ’tech neck’ since it helps open the anterior chest wall and shoulders.
