Unsurprisingly, recent events have led us to gravitate towards more of the things that offer us comfort and security... from cups of tea, to fluffy slippers, to toasty hot water bottles in the middle of the day!
Thanks to these cosy connotations, hot water bottles are currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity, along with electric blankets, sales of which are up 400 per cent in the last week alone, according to Silent Night Beds.
There are few things that are more comforting than a hot water bottle, and so it’s no wonder therefore that a fluffy hottie is fast becoming something of a WFH necessity... closely followed by a kettle that is never far from the boil!!
‘Applied heat’, whether for pain relief of purely for comfort, is just one part of a wider ‘self-preservation’ routine that we can all embrace to better arm ourselves for relaxation in this world mired with uncertainly.
Whether placed behind your back, up your jumper, on your lap, or even under your feet, the heat can provide a soothing, smile-loaded distraction, if nothing else!
