‘We should leverage the holiday-given freedom to move - and to not move an inch - in equal measure’

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

Holiday workouts, to many, might seem like a contradiction in terms, with the ‘rest and recharge’ narrative of time away tending to be more defined by sun lounger surfing…than any other sport.

That said, ‘powering down’ on holiday needn’t always be sedentary.

In many cases, it’s an end goal can be best achieved by leveraging both the holiday-given freedom to move - and to not move an inch - in equal measure.

A few lengths here… a little lounge there!

A cheeky lunch time gym sesh…with a chaser of chilling out in the pool.

When everyday life scarcely allows for the fitness routines we might like, the on-your-doorstep opportunity of a holiday gym and made-for-lengths pool is often too good not to miss.

A welcome chance for fitness routines to be started, changed, stepped up, or slowed down according to taste.

The main aim, in my case? To punctuate the poolside romance-novel-marathon with pockets of mood-boosting, habit-moulding movement…the likes of which can only ever make those blissful chill-out chapters in the sunshine, all the sweeter!
