We all know the feeling. The heavy limbs. A pounding head. Dry mouth. All the signs of a good night out and that your body needs some R&R!
Unfortunately, hangover “cures” as such are generally a myth, but according to the NHS, there are a few tips that those who are planning a few festive tipples might benefit from:
1️⃣ First up... FLUIDS! One of the most important things you can do is to drink more fluids, this way you are actively rehydrating yourself. This could include drinking a pint or so of water before you go to sleep, and keeping a glass of water by the bed to sip if you wake up during the night.
2️⃣ EAT... It is not advised to drink on an empty stomach. Before you go out, tuck into some carbs (such as pasta or rice) or good fats (eg. Eggs, avocados or nuts) as this will help slow down the body's absorption of alcohol.
3️⃣ A healthy, balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients is imperative to help our bodies function normally, so we can feel at our best. Keeping your diet as healthy as possible at this time of year, and throughout the year, is therefore good preparation for when things do get a little more relaxed!
4️⃣ THINK VITS
