‘Flowers are taking on a new-found necessity in our everyday lives’

Updated: Dec 14, 2020

If there’s one thing that never fails to brighten even the dullest of days, it’s a bunch of flowers.

No matter whether they were brought for yourself, or gifted by another, the mood boost is both immediate AND lasting, with consistent links being shown between exposure to flowers, and positive mental health.

More specifically, it has been shown that flowers can ‘help alleviate feelings of depression and anxiety, as well as increase innovative thinking and productivity (Rugers).’

In the current climate, this is an effect that is lending flowers a new-found necessity in our everyday lives, especially as we look to new ways of supporting those that we love (and ourselves) through the relative isolation and despondency of the winter months! #flowerpower
