This comedy sketch by Des Bishop was a ‘penny drop’ moment.
All this time I’ve been thinking of ‘mindfulness’ as a health buzzword (an antidote to modern life, perhaps?) without realising it was once a WAY of life.
Not so long ago, ‘mindfulness’ wasn’t something we needed to practice or make time for.
It abounded naturally, from every nook and cranny of the day.
Mindfulness therefore isn’t so much a ‘health hack’ - as a relic from the past, repurposed for a generation who’ve forgotten (or never experienced) how intrinsic to our very existence it once was.
