Isn’t it funny…how the practical demands of adulthood, can make dress connoisseurs out of even the most unlikely of fashionistas?!
These days, if it hasn’t got pockets, an elastic waist and a midi hem… it’s a no from me!!
Pockets - in particular- have earned their non-negotiable status for myriad of reasons.
Firstly, some things are just to important to not be on your person… at all times!
Secondly, what else are we meant to do with our hands in those nervous, not-sure-where-to-put-my-arms moments of social awkwardness?
Body language experts might not necessarily concur, but these are just the kind of incentives that put a simple dress into a different league of add-to-cart-irresistible.
Not only this, but what better can’t-take-a-compliment catchall is there, than a pocket-shaped ta-da? Compared to ‘oh this old thing!?’ or those dreaded unsolicited price tag revelations… it’s a gold star for graciousness!
For all these reasons, and the fact it worked enough for Alanis Morissette to write a song about it…I’m putting a hand in my pocket for this @sugarhillbrighton staple…and giving a virtual high five to the fellow pocket-lovers out there at the same time!
