Making a splash!

Packing for a family holiday is no easy feat, but if there’s one thing I’ve come to realise, it’s that the margin for getting it right rests on remembering the ‘swimming stuff’… above all else.

The costumes, goggles and inflatables - they’re up there with the sun cream and medicine bag on the list of things to not leave home without.

Now that my children are a bit older, they’re never happier than when dunking, diving and cannon-balling into the hotel pool. This new era of pool fun - which has consigned the shallow-end-paddling, arm-band-wearing days to history - called for much more than your average swimwear. It demanded comfort and extra coverage for starters (to avoid the age-old battle of trying to wrestle T-shirts onto small suncreamed bodies in the middle of the day) and this made the Splash About sunsuit an ideal choice.

As the ultimate one-stop-shop for children's and adult costumes, as well as swim aids, toys and accessories, Splash About takes the shopping around out of getting 'beach ready' - a concept that encompasses practicalities and pleasure in equal measure.

Most popular from my holiday haul were the Snapper mask goggles (which miraculously avoided leaks!), the floaty squid dive toys and the pufferfish beach ball, which even some of the grown ups couldn’t resist a cheeky volley of, given half the chance.
