Heading to the sauna this Autumn? Don't forget your hat...

It’s a cliche to say 'new season, new routine,' but the sentiment in using the changing weather as a lifestyle guide isn’t far wrong.

Swapping solo workouts for team sports, and the post-workout rush for a strategic after-exercise slow down, are just two examples of this concept in practice.

Fortunately, both boxes can be ticked at your local padel club. After an energetic hour on court, retiring to the club sauna seems like both a logical and well earned treat.

Coach Harriet joined me today at Padel Maidenhead to try out the new facilities - including the club sauna and plunge - and to also see what all the sauna-hat-hype was about that I had been reading about so often in recent months.

Cult of Sauna hats are handcrafted using ThermaWool™ technology - a dense, organic New Zealand wool - to naturally insulate and diffuse rising heat and steam. This not only helps protect your head from overheating, but also reduces scalp stress and heat-related hair damage. Each hat is subtly unique and designed to mould to your head for a comfortable, sculpted fit.

With the added peace of mind of a sauna hat, the session became uniquely therapeutic in ways that extended beyond the social and soporific qualities of time spend in the warm and dark… seemingly far removed from the woes of the world. It certainly brings new meaning to the concept of 'head-space', and in this regard the wearing of a sauna hat seems both apt…and logical.
