Screen-Free Teen Magazine - reprising the joy of the 90s glossies in a bid to bring back the analogue childhood

Do you remember 90s teen magazines?
I know I do, and I’m on a mission to bring them back.
Screen-Free Teen magazine is a brand new print publication designed for - and produced - modern teenagers.
This magazine has been designed to replicate the reader experience of the 90s glossies that we all knew…and loved.
It’s a palpable back-step from the digital abyss that teens (and indeed adults) find themselves in… and I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s never been more needed. Or wanted.
Created by teens… for teens, the publication is - for the many young journalists and writers behind its creation - a first foray into the world of publishing and media.
For the last six months, a panel of teen writers, journalists and creatives have been busy bringing every story, interview and feature to life.
In so doing… the joy of the teen magazine has been reprised.
It’s the same… but different, and ambitious in its determination to not just take on the beast of teen screen culture… but win.
Before we introduce this new title, let’s take a look back not just at why teen magazines were so popular, but why so many of us who grew up with them hold such enduring fondness (not to mention gratitude) for their unique and significant contribution to the adolescent experience.
Suzanne (@yesvirtualassistance), Sarah (@schutteconsulting), Catherine (@frostmag) and Ruthie all grew up in the era of More, Sugar, Bliss and Just 17. THIS is their love letter to teen mag history… and a blueprint, perhaps, for its future.
