Screen-Free Teen...incoming!

For the past 6 months, ‘Screen Free Teen Magazine’ has been slowly coming together behind the scenes, and with only a few months to go until the first edition is published, there's much to reveal about this exciting new publication!

Coined as a solution to digital disconnection among youngsters, the title is intended to reprise the joy of the 90s glossy for a generation who know not the joy of flicking pages, a free pull-out poster (and a lip balm if you’re lucky!)

‘Screen Free Teen’ magazine is currently drumming up a lot of noise in Maidenhead (where the project is being launched), with both local media and celebrities helping put some all-important wind behind the cause!

Rather uniquely, the magazine content is entirely student-led, and with a few high profile interviews lined up for features in the launch edition, our student journalists are set to gain some invaluable industry experience in the coming months as they turn their hand to a range of publishing roles.

As well, the magazine is giving the young editorial team behind its creation a valuable ‘platform’ for self-expression and meaningful peer connections - both commodities which the 'digital childhood' is directly at odds with.

It is hoped that once published, more schools will adopt this project as a way of furthering the screen-free campaign and providing useful work experience to a rising generation of writers, editors, photographers and designers.
