It’s not a particularly inspirational place, on the face of it, but my local leisure club’s ‘hot room’ recently provided an introduction to the most unlikely of muses!
An older lady, with a sauna stretching ritual so complex, that it made me debate switching up my own comparatively sloppy, sit-back-and-relax stance…with at least a few of her (clearly-effective) limbering-up techniques.
The experience, if nothing else, has reinforced my long-upheld belief that the ‘accidental influencers’ of the everyday (the ones who inadvertently plant seeds of positive change in others, simply by going about their normal everyday)…. these are the ones to watch!
Maybe even more so than the self-certified do-as-I-doers of instagram, these people’s words and actions have a candid, unscripted quality about them which makes them persuasive.
Persuasive in a subtle ‘I think I might try that too’ way, if you know what I mean?
So curious is this phenomena, that I ended up writing a rather lengthy blog on this lady.
The word count just so happened to outgrow my instagram caption, but it’s worth a read if ever you’re in any doubt that real, unvarnished life has more monopoly on ‘influencers’ than social media… so long as you’re looking up enough.
